VCA TYPE CERTIFICATION FOR IAM OPERATIONS The VCA should be type-certified in accordance with the requirements of SC-VTOL Category ‘Enhanced’ or with any other equivalent certification basis. The equivalency is determined by EASA.

SPECIAL CONDITION FOR SMALL-CATEGORY VTOL-CAPABLE AIRCRAFT (SC-VTOL) VCA type certification according to SC-VTOL Category ‘Enhanced’ is required for commercial and non-commercial operations over congested areas. Type certification under SC-VTOL applies to a small VCA with a maximum operational passenger seating configuration (MOPSC) of 9 or less and a maximum certified take-off mass of 5 700 kg or less.
