Touchdown and lift-off area (TLOF)

EASA defines “Touchdown and lift-off area (TLOF)” in one regulation. The wording below is reproduced verbatim from the EASA Easy Access Rules, with a link to the paragraph it comes from.

‘Touchdown and lift-off area (TLOF)’ means an area on which a helicopter may touch down or lift off.

Touchdown and Lift-Off Area (TLOF) FAA IPH
The TLOF is a load bearing, usually paved, area at a heliport where the helicopter is permitted to land. The TLOF can be located at ground or rooftop level, or on an elevated structure. The TLOF is normally centered in the FATO.
