safety management system
EASA defines “safety management system” in 2 regulations, worded for each regulation's scope. The wording below is reproduced verbatim from the EASA Easy Access Rules, with a link to the paragraph it comes from.
‘safety management system’ means a systematic approach to managing safety including the necessary organisational structure, accountabilities, policies and procedures;
‘safety management system’ means a systematic approach to managing aviation safety including the necessary organisational structures, accountabilities, policies and procedures, and includes any management system that, independently or integrated with other management systems of the organisation, addresses the management of safety.
